Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Achi Kalyanam. By creating a profile you agree to them. If you're creating or managing a profile on behalf of a family member (a common and welcome use of this platform), you're confirming you have their permission to do so and that you'll pass on anything here that concerns them.

1. Who can register

You must be of legal marriageable age under the law that applies to you, able to enter a binding agreement, and providing information in good faith. This service is built specifically for the Nagarathar community; we may ask for community verification (for example, a sangam certification) as part of the trust-and-verification stamps a profile can carry.

2. Your account

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for keeping your password confidential. One profile per prospective bride or groom — a parent, sibling or the individual themself may manage it, but duplicate profiles for the same person aren't allowed and may be removed without notice. Let us know immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Membership, credits and payments

A free profile can browse and message within the free plan's daily limits. A paid membership plan, AI/WhatsApp credit top-ups, and single-contact unlocks are optional purchases described on the membership page at the time of purchase; prices there are the current, binding prices. Purchases activate immediately and, except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout, are not refundable once the benefit (an unlocked contact, a credit, a plan period) has been used or has begun.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Post a profile that isn't genuine, isn't accurate, or that you don't have permission to post;
• Harass, threaten or send unwelcome or abusive messages to another member;
• Use the platform to solicit money, sell products or services, or advertise anything unrelated to a genuine marriage introduction;
• Scrape, copy or redistribute other members' profile information;
• Attempt to bypass the platform's privacy, verification or payment controls.

We can suspend or remove a profile that breaks these rules, is reported and found to be genuine cause for concern, or is found to be duplicate, fraudulent or already married and not disclosed.

5. Verification is not a guarantee

Our verification stamps (mobile, government ID, education/employment checks, community reference) confirm that a specific claim was checked against a document or reference at a point in time — they are a helpful signal, not a background-check guarantee. Families are responsible for their own due diligence — meeting in person, verifying details independently, and involving family — before any marriage decision.

6. Content you post

You keep ownership of the photos and details you upload. By posting them, you give us a licence to display them to other members within the platform, exactly as your own privacy settings allow, for as long as your profile is active. You confirm you have the right to upload any photo or document you post.

7. No guarantee of outcome

We help families find and evaluate potential matches; we do not arrange marriages, act as a marriage broker, or guarantee that any connection made here will lead to a marriage. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, what happens between members once contact details are exchanged.

8. Ending your account

You can hide or delete your profile at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate an account for violating these terms, on legal request, or to protect the platform and its members, and will tell you why where we're able to.

9. Liability

The platform is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, or for the conduct of other members. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, if any.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts local to our registered office .

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll let members know through the app.
