The Nagarathars — also known as Nattukottai Chettiars — are a Tamil trading community whose ancestral home is Chettinad, spanning present-day Sivaganga and Pudukkottai districts. Long known for banking, trade and the distinctive Chettinad mansions their families built, the community today lives across Tamil Nadu, the rest of India and overseas, while still gathering around a shared set of clan temples and customs.
Marriage within the community, guided by the family's kottai (clan) and its temple, has always been arranged carefully — this platform exists to make that same careful process easier for families who now live far apart.
