Marriage scholarship
Beyond what the state offers, Nagarathar Sangams and community trusts around the world run their own funds for wedding costs. This is a starting point, not an application form — each fund has its own eligibility rules and process.
ACHI — Nagarathar Association of North America
Marriage assistance for low-income families and widowed mothers, subject to community verification and documentation.
London Nagarathar Sangam (UK)
Financial support for eligible community members in the UK, applied for through the Sangam's charity process.
Local village Sangam funds
Many village Sangams — Ilayathakudi, Pillaiyarpatti, Iraniyur, Nemam, Mathur, Soorakudi, Vairavanpatti and others — keep small funds for hall fees, mandapam charges and occasional thirumangalyam assistance.
How to actually apply
Start with your own village or regional Sangam — they usually know which family funds a household qualifies for and can vouch for the application. Most funds ask for a letter from the local Sangam, proof of the wedding date, and a simple income declaration.
